Have grown this for years in my sunny courtyard. Bananas show up in Summer, but have never gotten them to ripen. Cutting down the individual trees, as needed, is a difficult chore requiring a ladder, machete, and a strong back. My husband thins the root system (and the subsequent banana forest) every 3 years or they get out of control in my small yard (also a job for a strong back). Grows very fast and requires lots of water.
