This Clematis doesn't really look or behave like a Clematis except for the flowers which are mauve pink, upturned bell like. It blooms from midsummer until early fall.

It is a herbacious cultivar, hardy to zone 4. Foliage is very serrated and bright green in the spring, turning darker during the summer and it grows 3 feet tall. It is semi-evergreen in zone 9 but probably not in lower zones.
