Close-up of helleborus
This is the first year for this flower. It is the daughter of my 3 original hellebores and resulted from open pollinated plants.
Foliage and flower during wintertime.
This is my all time favorite plant. I am addicted to growing them. They bloom when everything else is still in deep winter sleep, and those same blooms stay on the plant for about 4 months.
The have wonderful evergreen glossy leaves that last all winter long. Mine are in shades of creams, whites, pinks and lavenders.

New for 2003
These fully opened Wednesday, the first day of Lent. How fitting.
Showing itself through the March snow!
Doesn't stay buried in the snow for long. Not an early bloomer in Zone 6, but blooms eventually. Snow is too deep for it in true winter, but once it blooms a few flakes don't hurt.
My first bloom on this plant.
Holding the bloom up, because they droop.
delicate & colorful..
