"Malta Thistle, Maltese Star-thistle, Cockspur Thistle, Yellow Star-thistle, Napa Thistle (Centaurea melitensis) bloom is a thistle-like flower about 3/8" to 1/2" wide. Its bracts have spines. Shown in April (blooms in background are on a different plant)."
