This bulb flowers later ain the summer (August 1st in No. Ca.). The leaves have ll died down at the end of spring so the flower stalks are naked, hence naked lady! It has great winter interest for then it has lush green leaves. The next picture is one of this same clump but 7 months later just before the leaves are about to start turning yellow and die back.
This is a close up of the most common color available.
This is what the leaves look like in spring before they die back.
This was taken April 2, 03 in No. Ca. This picture is the same clump as my picture above but 7 months later. The leaves have grown quite large and are in a thick pile now. I will now trim them significantly so that the iris planted under them can breath and flower and other things may be planted around them. They are now getting quite messy looking and spilling out of the flower bed. I have left them long enough to make flowers for next year. I will clip them into a nice neat square and slowly what remains of the leaves will turn yellow then brown. At this time I will pull off all the dead leaves and wait to till they flower.

Bulbs collected July 2011 from an old house that was being torn down. The bulbs are very large compared to other bulbs, largest ones similar in size to a softball.
