"A family of the Ginger\tumeric.
Grown in moist topsoil and partly shaded.
takes about 3 weeks till the shoot sprouts from the bulb\tuber.
broad long leaves, light green with a deep purple coloured vein in the middle of the leaves.
grows up to 4 feet and the blooms are sky blue and velvet white in colour, which lasts about 3 months.
The bulbs or tuber have the most bitter taste unlike the ginger or regular tumeric roots.Cross section of the root will show a pale whitish blue tuber with a slight fragrance."
