"Arizona's Organ Pipe - The real thing. Many organ pipe relatives are given this name by other sources to cash in on the desirability of this plant. If you want the genuine organ pipe, this is it. Arizona's native organ pipe is very slow growing and consequently stays more expensive than the faster growing imitations. Year old seedlings are extremely robust and begin to pup from the base. They are very handsome with bright green bodies and spines that vary in color from a dark gold through brown to a reddish brown. As they mature the spine colors just become dark, but the new growth continues to show the brighter colors. In your landscape the Arizona organ pipe becomes a majestic centerpiece that improves with age. As a potted plant you can regulate it's size through keeping it under-potted if you don't have the room for a big specimen. (Note: this is a Sonoran desert native and will need very strong light to stay looking its' best.) "
