The photo of the bush did not show the bloom very well so I merged the bloom photo. (San Antonio, Tx.)
This is a plant that loves the heat and requires little water.
The small bloom resembles a hibiscus bloom.
The petals are very sheer which permits the sunlight to easily "light them up".
Wild Pavonias growing near my house
Buds produced in spring will usually not open, although seed setting will follow.
really love this fairy hibiscus. the Japanese beetles don't seem to annihilate this one like the larger kinds
love the details of the 'eye'
even on the outside, the 'veining' shows through
The seed pods show up before the plant sets blooms!
