This zuke is a few days old. I wish I could have caught the blossom open!
The trellis is full with 2 plants. I am starting to train a vine down the top of the fence.
Growing well at 32" long, 2" in diameter, and 5" in circumference on 08.14.2005 in Everson, Wa (Zone 8a) - photo courtesy eweed
This vine is growing out across my lawn some 25 feet from where it was set out.
Just love the shape of these... I let them twirl as they wish instead of hanging them straight.
These grow big in a hurry. They are 10-12 inches long when the blossoms fall off.
It is the plant in the back.

A pollinator's paradise... Trombocino Squash (right) sharing the fence with Suyo Long Cucumber (left). This squash is worth growing just for the giant "tropical-like" blooms.
Seedlings started by seed in the ground, next to a cattle panel for trellis.
Female bloom getting started. Still pending fertilization.
Male flower. Don't expect squash here.
This tromboncino is 21 inches long and will be harvested now in the summer squash stage.
Just harvested this squash in the summer squash stage. It is 21 inches long and seeds have not formed as you can see. The entire squash was used with no waste.
