A young stand of Indocalamus tessellatus growing near a creek at our home in Northeastern Oklahoma. May 24, 2012
While this particular stand of bamboo is still quite young, the leaves of Indocalamus tessellatus are already exhibiting their large tendencies.
A patch of Indocalamus tessellatus in year 2013. A very rainy start to the season has produced many new shoots!
One day, I hope to be able to use the large leaves for cooking and steaming. This 'small' leaf is over a foot long.
