A remarkably hardy coleus-relative blooming in fall in the shady woodland. Many upright flowering stems.
The bright blue is particularly nice so late in the season (Sept/Oct).
The foliage has an identifying appendage at the tip of each leaf. Makes it easy to pull the many seedlings. It definitely reseeds, but not much of a nuisance.
Flowers stems sometimes droop a little; and the blue fades somewhat as the flowers age.
