linseed oil comes from flax..this grew from my bird's left over seed that I threw out in the yard for the wild birds.
This perennial blue has been blooming sice mid April. Through snow and freezing temps there is little damage.

The plant is very upright until the buds form and then it takes on a waterfall-like appearance.

Blue flax is a wildflower around these parts, but it also looks beautiful mixed into the landscape. Arching stems are quite graceful.
