A Texas star in my back yard ,in front of a Pride of Bermuda tree.
Pardancanda sent this to me last year as a bareroot plant. I was real surprised to see the blooms this year.
First Bloom! Approximately 6" in diameter and a wonderful addition to the flower bed.

Recently collected seed pods which were breaking open naturally on the plant. Seeds are arranged in orderly rows. Northcentral Floriba zone 8b.

This is a hardy Hibiscus in zpne 7b.
It grew to over 3 feet the first year. Yhe very large billiant red flowers open only for about a day. They are very showy. The plant does not seem to need staking and has delicate looking foliage that doesn\\\'t seem to be bothered by bugs. Mine is growing in some very poor clay soil.

Overwintered indoors, set out in its container in summer and hoping it lives forever. It's gorgeous.

Native Swamp Hibiscus near Tampa, FL
This didnt grow at all last year, thought it was gone. Came back great this year.
I have the Swamp Hibiscus and this is the 2nd year for it to bloom for me here in OH and I have been able to overwinter it in my Pond.

I gew this Texas Star from seed. It is in full sun and only watered once a week. It is in Cut-N-Shoot, Texas.
Perfect example of a fully-developed bloom with adjacent bud.
