Sunflower Chainti Flower
Sunflower, 'Chianti Hybrid', from behind, 6/17/2006
My first sunflower! The bloom is darker than I expected -- almost black. Stunning color and easy to grow from seed!
Spot the lonely Chianti! Pictured with Scaret runner bean and Cocktail tomato
Chianti sunflower, first bloom July 18th. About 6 feet tall.
Blooming up a storm, made it through a hot spell temps 90s-105!
Color starts out black-red and fades up to orange-red. I love these guys!
Even once the blooms start to fade they provide interest...Goldfinch grabbing a snack!
First time growing Chianti Sunflowers, and with great success for the first time.
