use of manual, mechanical or chemical means to discourage the growth of unwanted, (usually) fast growing and/or invasive plants.Choice of method depends on several factors: gardener's preference/philosophy,habits of the plant and location of unwanted plant.Total weed control is generally accepted as an unachievable goal!!
