Additionally the American Horticultural Society has a Heat Zone map. Information and how to find your Heat Zone may be found at http://www.ahs.org/publications/heat_zone_map.htm

For Western gardener's Sunset Magazine devised 24 zones about 40 years ago, which are much more localized than the USDA zones. With the addition of Texas, the number of zones was enlarged to 33, some even broken down into sub zones.
