The long two-valved seed vessel or pod of plants belonging to the Brassicaceae (Mustard) family

A certain type of seedpod, the presence of which is the main criterion of classification in the Brassicaceae family.

Do not confuse with siliqua (the similar-looking seedpod of locust and carob trees.)
