More often than not, a bulblet is an excact clone of the parent bulb except in those rare cases when a sport is formed (through a genetical mutation when the offspring end up exibihiting a distinct change from the parent). Bulblets are also very common to lilies and are formed in the stem roots just below the soil surface (see picture).
