Definition as written by Terry:

1. A coupler that allows the reconnecting of the ends of a broken hose.

2. A term for a kit that can be used to repair a leaky hose, typically by removing or patching the leaky area.

When expensive hoses spring a leak or develop another problem, it may be much less expensive to buy the appropriate hose mender rather than purchase a new hose of comparable quality.
