Definition of scab

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Terry:

Venturia inaequalis is a fungal disease common in areas with summer rainfall - most commonly troubling apples and crabapples. It causes disfiguring lesions, and can infect other plants as well.

Control by planting disease-resistant varieties, practicing good garden hygiene and applying well-timed fungicidal sprays if necessary.
