Definition as written by Terry:

The change in grade (decline or incline, depending on your perspective) across a defined property. The slope is typically expressed as the number of feet of fall (or rise) per 100 feet of horizontal distance. Most slopes are gradual, although steeper slopes are found in hilly or mountainous properties.

Slope is a factor to be considered when planning your landscape, and steep slopes may need to be addressed through terracing or other measures to prevent soil erosion
