Definition as written by talinum:

A distinct period of bloom.

Definition as written by sanity101:

Refers to how a plant (generally a shrub or vine) will put out many flowers at once. For instance, many old rose bushes have a large \'flush\' of spring blooms, then a smaller flush in the fall. Many plants only have one flush of bloom at a specific time. A flush generally lasts a few weeks, though sporadic flowers may occur at other times. It doesn\'t apply to plants which flower steadily through the entire season.
