Definition as written by talinum:

Dense clusters of small shoots appear on otherwise normal branches. Leaves discolor early and remain small but vigor is not affected. These are found on trees, shrubs and woody perennials.

The mutation is caused by fungus or mites and the affected branches can be cut back and rooted if the mutation is a desirable one. Many dwarf plants have started this way.

Definition as written by angele:

Abnormal development of many weak branches. Seen in trees infected with Mistletoe.
