Definition of adsorb

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Wingnut:

To be held by or in another substance by physical bonds. Paper towels actually adsorb water ~ they just hold it until it evaporates. In gardening, it usually refers to accumulating on the surface of the soil.

ABsorb really means to be held inside another substance by chemical means, on a chemical level.

Definition as written by Magpye:

To gather on a surface .. (opposed to absorb).

Definition as written by Cactus_Needle:

AB=Away
