Definition of sawdust

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Terry:

Finely shredded wood byproduct that is often used as an inexpensive mulch or garden path material. As it decomposes, it will remove nitrogen from the soil, so care should be taken when placing it around perennials that may suffer from a long-term lack of nitrogen (scatter a handful of fertilizer on the sawdust to counteract the effects.)
