An insect identified by the frothy spittle it generates to protect itself. There are 23,000 species of spittle bug. The nymph lives on sap from the plant to which it attaches, but generally there are insufficient numbers of insects to cause damage to the plant. A stong hosing will generally cure any problems.

The Spittle bug is a small yellow bug that uses a spit like substance to protect itself. It makes its home it almost any plant or weed. They are found quite often on or around clovers.
