An attempt at predicting rain, wind, temperature, and sunshine with the probability of success rapidly diminishing over time. Gardeners generally fall into one, or a combination of four categories:
A. Self reliant types who evaluate the sky, observe animal behavior, stick a moist finger in the air, or rely on aches and pains.
B. Scientific types who use a barometer.
C. Gullible types who tune into the radio, TV, or the Internet.
D. Old fashioned types who consult their Farmer's Almanac.
