A fungal infestation on lawns that appears as grayish-white or pinkish patches after heavy snow has melted. Fungi involved include Typhula spp., Fusarium nivale, Sclerotinia borealis, non-sclerotial low temperature basidiomycete (LTB), and sclerotial low temperature basidiomycete (SLTB). They live only at temperatures near the freezing point.
