Rainforests are also located in mid-latitude regions, and are referred to as temperate rainforests. These typically have a minimum annual rainfall of 2000-3000 mm, and are located close to an ocean or inland sea and a coastal mountain range. Temperate rainforests are found along the Pacific coasts of the U.S. and Canada, southern Chile, southwest New Zealand, Tasmania (Australia), southwest Japan, Georgia and Turkey in Asia, and central Norway.
