Definition of self-pruning

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by darylmitchell:

When a tree sheds a dead branch. This occurs in nature when a tree is in a dense stand, and its lower limbs don\'t receive enough sunlight to survive. Some trees self-prune better than others; white spruce do it readily while jack pine do not.
