Definition of accent plant

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Zanymuse:

A plant that adds a special interest to the garden by virtue of its color, shape or size.

For example: Hydrangea can be an accent providing welcome color in a shady Fern garden. Or a golden-leafed Hosta can accent a dark corner. Just as accents in speech make for interesting conversations, an accent plant adds interest to the garden
