Definition as written by Terry:

Bulbs that bloom in the fall. Typically they are purchased and planted in the spring.

Some fall-flowering bulbs are tender, and may need to be planted in a bulb planting tray or container.

Some fall-flowering bulbs such as Lycoris can take a few years to establish, but are worth the wait, and will provide the gardener with blooms when many other perennials are starting to shut down for the season.
