Definition of slough

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Terry:

Refers to a depression filled with muck or mud. It can also refer to a stagnant swamp or bog. In this sense, it is pronounced "slew", as opposed to "sluff" which usually refers to shedding, such as a snake sloughing its skin.
