The stima is one of the femal parts of the reproductive flower organs. The stigma forms the connection between the ovary (where the egg(s) are located) and the sigma which is where the pollen lands in order to fertilize the egg. In most flowers the style is long and thin allowing the stigma to be held out from the flower, e.g. in lilies for example.
