Definition of terracing

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Sugar_fl:

A raised bank of earth having vertical or sloping sides and a flat top: turning a hillside into a series of ascending terraces for farming.

Definition as written by Terry:

One landscaping solution to a sloping lot is to break the slope into a series of flat areas and construct retaining walls to create the vertical elements between the flat areas. This allows the gardener to have beds for shrubs, trees or other plants.
