The scoop on 'Randy's Perennials & Water Gardens'

I have been shopping at Randy's for years, ever since I moved to the Atlanta area from Chicago. I'm a Water garden addict. My entire weekend is spent putzing over my two ponds and the surrounding area. The rest of it is spending money at Randy's. Prices are low, Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I have not purchased one thing from Randy's that has failed to thrive! That includes Fish.

Any Person who lives in the Atlanta area needs to know that even Randy himself is available for advice - which is ALWAYS right on target. They treat the person buying a $5.00 Water plant with the same respect and care as a person buying a grove of $1,000.00 Palm Trees.

You gotta LOVE Randy's!

I have been visiting and enjoying Randy's Nursery for years, but I didn't know he did any mail order business, and find no ordering information on the website. Am I missing something?

However, if you are in the NE Atlanta area (the map's on the site) give yourself a treat and go. The nursery's beautiful and the variety is astounding. The prices are good. The staff know what they are doing, and will either walk you through, answer questions and help you pick things out, or leave you alone to daydream for several hours, whichever you prefer:) The plants are all locally grown and tough as nails. His selection of succulents is especially broad.

My only two caveats are: 1)It can be hard to get out of traffic into the driveway, so go past and come in from the north if you can; and 2) He does not appear to be using any pesticides or herbicides whatever. To me, this is a plus, but it does mean there are weed seeds and insects in the pots with the plants you get. Once I got a garden snake, no extra charge:) Just quarantine 'em when you get them home if it bothers you.

Randy's Perennials and Water Gardens is the best nursery in my area of NE Atlanta, GA. I don't have a Water Garden, but I have enjoyed their extensive collection of perennials and other plants for the past two years. I find many exotic and unique plants each time I visit. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I have a 2200 gal watergarden with a 15' creekbed flowing down to a 70 gal pond, surrounded by a bog area that's approx 12'x17'. I have 2 waterfalls, 2 pumps and 3 filters. 5 Koi, 3 pond comets, and 11 various other fish. The garden area is surrounded by various plants and rocks. 99.5% of everything making up my paradise was purchased from Randy's. After talking with Randy and/or his employees, I built the entire thing myself. They are extremely knowledgeable regarding the different products on the market today. They also told me how to build my own waterfall filter. I have never had any fish or plant material that I purchased from them die or become sick. There is such a wide variety of top quality merchandise there, you could spend ALL day just looking. I have visited MANY watergarden stores but NONE have come anywhere near the positive experience I continue to have at Randy's. And no... this is not a paid advertisement, just a very honest, conservative opinion.
