"My name is Lisa Moore. I am 38 yrs old, married with 2 boys (one is 18 and one is 7), 5 cats, 2 dogs, I live in zone 5b.
I love gardening although being a newbie don't know much yet. Perrenial gardening is my favorite type of gardening, (I love mints, daylilies, iris', and hostas) but water gardening and koi ponds are my passion. We just recently moved and had to leave my two ponds. We will be digging another one here any time if it will quit raining on the weekends. I love japanese iris and japanese morning glories (although these are hard to find). I am wanting to do some dwarf herb planting also, but do not have any plants or seeds as of yet. I have been collecting groundcovers too!
This year I will winter sow some seeds for the first time, I find this method very interesting. All attempts to grow anything from seed before have not been successful. I think the home made seed packets are neat and like to make them. I look for different ones all the time.
I collect all sorts of things such as garden signs, birdhouses (been wanting some gourd bird houses and/or feeders), bird feeders (especially hummingbird feeders), wind chimes, garden mushrooms (love the wood carved ones and glass blown ones), frogs, and them corny rock faces you stick in the garden here and there.
Christmas is my favorite holiday. My style of decorating is anything Santas or snowmen (old world style to modern, but old world style being my fav).
I started something 15 years ago for my boys... I scout out and buy 3 really special tree ornaments per year, marking them with the date and two of them with my boys names on them. When they are adults, move out and have their first Christmas tree of their own, they will get their ornaments from me to display on their own trees. Hopefully each ornament will remind them of a special Christmas when they were a child.
I can't say I have any particular favorite craft, I always have several different types of projects going at once. Crafts I don't have the patience for is knitting, crocheting, and sewing/quilting.
I love taking trash and making treasures, this gives me the greatest satisfaction. (Bowling balls has been turned into garden gazing balls, tea cups/saucers into bird feeders, etc.
I like to make melt and pour candles, melt and pour soaps, homemade bath/beauty products. I am perfume/scent sensitive, hating strong overbearing perfumes. When I make candles, soaps, beauty products, I use very light mellow scents. Vanilla and mints being my favorite."
