I retired here a few years back due to a pretty serious back injury, so my garden is very much a wild type that requires minimum bending (curse those weeds). My place is a quarter acre, a third of which is dedicated to Australian sub-tropical rainforest trees and bush foods. The soil is wonderful dark river loam and I always say if you stand in it long enough you will sprout roots lol (I may be bragging, but just a bit)! I have a dream to turn my front yard into a sub-tropical woodland using both Australian natives and ornamentals and have taken an interest lately in southern U.S. small trees and shrubs (our climate here is very similar to parts of Florida and Louisiana). The entire garden has touches of Japan in it as their garden style was the earliest to influence me and i am still facinated by all things Japan. "
