"My wife and I are big fans of tropical plants and we have loved growing them in our home in SC since our first visit to Hawaii several years ago. Most of the plants we grow are transplanted Hawaiian plants or cuttings from the islands.
We grow small and large Monstera deliciosa (my favorite), Green and Red Ti Plants, several Alocasia and Colocasia, White Birds of Paradise, Traveler's Palms (ravenala madagascariensis), Christmas Palms (Veitchia merrillii), several types of Banana (including Basjoo), Plumeria, several Ginger's, Heliconias, lots of Pothos, Peace Lily's, and regular Birds of Paradise to name a few.
I am especially fond of our monstera's and our extensive Ti collection. We now have plants from Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island growing at home.
Professionally I work as the lead web developer for the SC Education Television Commission and I also founded a Hawaii media and tourism website. I have a BS in Geography, with a focus on Climatology, from the University of SC."

"My wife and I visit Hawaii each year to update our series of guidebooks (road guides) we write for the islands. I particularly love visiting just to see the tropical plants."
