I love my bromeliad garden and whenever I have zone envy, I just remind myself how lucky I am to live in a subtropical climate. My interest in native plants led me to butterfly gardening. I raise butterflies as a hobby and I also volunteer at the Museum of Science and Industry where I help raise caterpillars for the butterfly exhibit. In addition, I volunteer with Hillsborough County's Invasive Species Task Force and the Tampa Bay Estuary Program. Often mistaken for a teacher, I am actually an accountant for Hillsborough County's Department of Aging Services."
