The Snowy River Wattle is a graceful shrub with slender greyish phyllodes, growing mainly on dry open hillsides around the upper reaches of the Snowy River in eastern Victoria and New South Wales in Australia.
They are easily grown from seed if the seed is treated first with boiling water and I grew one in my front garden. It grew to about 2 metres and flowered beautifully each spring, but suddenly died last year. To our pleasure, we realised that a seedling was growing alongside the dead shrub and although only 30cm tall so far, it is flowering for the first time right now. We intend to collect seed this year and grow another elsewhere in the garden.

I have not grown this plant. It is frost hardy (will tolerate frosts to -7 C ). Propagation: From scarified seed or hot water treatment (place in hot water, letv the water cool and soak for 2 days, then plant).
