Bought from ebay as 'Williams hybrid' sometime early winter, poss December, as very small plug plant. This apparently can only be grown from tissue culture, being a cross. It was very slow to start, most of it's size was put on in late summer to early autumn in an open (panes missing!) semi-shaded greenhouse, very cool UK zone 8a 2005 summer, mild autumn. Brought indoors early November. Leaf colour only recently developed, stem turned red and broadening at the base. Grown in leafy compost, gritty river soil, Irish moss peat, no other food given, will need a larger pot now, as musas keep growing in spare room at 16-18C over winter.
