Each of these already popular books will now be available to a large new readership who will delight in the essential elements of every DK title: clarity, educational value, and visual appeal.
I feel this book leaves me wanting more. The disappointment is in the incomplete selections listed. I believe the author attempted to cover too much in to small a space...
This book is good as a coffee table book, the photography is lovely. However, it is not very useful for identification or specific care. Many genus are covered in overview, but it is far from "complete". Also, very few species within each genus are covered.
There is some good information on propagation and care, but again it is only in general overviews, not specific by genus or species. Also, a section on pests that is incomplete and doesn't really suggest how to get rid of those that are mentioned.
On a more positive note; each plant listed has a chart that shows 5-year indoor and 10-year outdoor growth expectations.
Overall, a good start, but needs a lot to be added.
