Decent book, good pictures, a little too general for one of my top favorites, but still has a home in my garden library and is reviewed once a year or so...
Very good book on gardening as a reference book for the whole spectrum of gardening from landscaping, garden layouts, propagation & gardening techniques, growing from seeds, pest, diseases that afflict plants, perrenials, annuals, vegetables, trees, shrubs, vines, grasses etc. The layout of the book is very user friendly, typical for Reader's Digest, for you to look up what you want about gardening, flowers or vegetables, as they are broken out into sections. I am rated the latest "New" Illustrated guide to Gardening. I have both the original and the new version which now carries color photos rather than all color drawings and sketchs.
I have the 1978 version of this book. It maybe old but it is filled with good information. It makes a good reference book for someone new in gardening.
