By "no-fail" garden they mean a garden that is easy to take care of (low-maintenance) but that also looks great over a long season. There are chapters on: Selecting a site, choosing a garden style, plant combinations, designing the garden, a gallery of garden plans, planting and propagation, maintaining the garden. There is also an encyclopedia of recommended annuals and perennials at the back. Lovely photos and illustrations throughout. I particularly liked all the ideas for plant combinations, the many planting plans, and all of the lists of specific plants scattered throughout, such as annuals and perennials easy to grow from seed, perennials that flower the first year, perennials that are easy to divide, perennials that are easy to propagate by stem cuttings, peonies that don't flop, and more. This book is absolutely packed with useful information. |
