A fun mid-winter read. Clueless author gets bitten by gardening bug. Her thoughts, trials, and mistakes all have a ring of familiarity, as does her delight in the little successes.
I'm in the middle of this book right now and I can't hardly put it down. As a beginning gardener, I can relate so well to the trials, tribulations, and obsession Amy has about her new garden. There have been a couple of times when I laughed right out loud. I highly recommend this one as a very entertaining read, and you'll learn a few handy tips along the way, too.
A wonderfully written story about Amy Stewart's garden in Santa Cruz, California. Not just an anecdotal memoir, but filled with tips in between chapters. Her helpful hints are good for general use to beginning gardeners. I especially enjoyed her vermicomposting story, which I may not have tried otherwise.
I found this book to be similar to 'Slug Tossing'.
