A magical read. Blajan writes about his small cottage and garden in the Netherlands and what he observes there and in the village he lives in. This is the only book about a garden that has made me envious of an animal! The hedgehogs in his garden made me want some here. (Darn the luck!) If I hadn't known he was writing about his European garden, I might not have known where he was(of course, the hedgehogs...), his stories don't seem confined to one place. He writes about observing the garden about you and letting yourself witness the many small miracles that happen every day.
