Dover paperback reproduction of a 1938 book. Encyclopedia of temperate herbs and their history and lore. Description of herbs accompanied by line drawings, soil preferences, and lots and lots of historic and literary references. Herbs are grouped somewhat confusingly by botanical family, and bare-bones indices only list plant names. But still a classic reference work to add to the herbal shelf.
