This book addresses the small residential garden. Usually books on Japanese gardens are mainly pictures of large park-like public gardens. This book is so full of ideas that can be adapted in a western style shade garden...Ferns, rock placement, water features and it even shows you how to make a several types of bamboo fences! I think this is an excellent book!
