I checked out Lloyd's "The Year at Great Dixter" from the library looking for plant combination ideas and guidance on perennial gardening techniques. And knowing Lloyd would be full of ideas and opinions, I was not disappointed.
Written in a month by month format punctuated with beautiful photography, the book is a good source for classic garden design ideas presented, of course, from the particularly English point of view Lloyd, talking about his own garden and its vision, can deliver.
If you are planning a trip to the UK to visit gardens, don't miss Great Dixter in East Sussex, and for a good 'read' beforehand, pick up "The Year at Great Dixter".
